Abigail Márquez Gonzalez, LCSW

(English and Spanish Mental Health Therapist)

When adversity affects human lives, it is common to experience diverse negative emotions, cognitions, behaviors, and trauma. Lives unravel, and it is often hard to regain control and peace. My delight is helping people to heal from traumatic/stressful experiences. In my practice, I help children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples identify their strengths, find healthy perceptions of themselves, and improve their relationships. So they can find peace, safety, and joy in their lives again. My experience has shown me that no single approach is the right one for each person, so I have been trained in a range of modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Processing Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Seeking Safety, Mindfulness techniques, and others. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with ten years of experience in the mental health profession. I graduated from Utah State University with a master’s degree in social work and completed the Advanced Substance Used Disorder Counseling program in August 2022 at the University of Utah. I became Certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Processing Therapy in 2020. I am in the process of getting certified in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy
